Kaziranga National Park: A Sanctuary for Rhinos and Tigers

Kaziranga National Park, spanning approximately 430 square kilometers, is one of India’s most remote and unique wildlife sanctuaries. Known primarily for its population of one-horned rhinoceroses, the park features a diverse landscape that includes elephant grass, cane, forests, and swamps.

Wildlife in Kaziranga
Kaziranga is home to a wide variety of wildlife. Alongside the iconic one-horned rhino, you’ll also find wild buffalo, sambar deer, wild boar, and the endangered barasingha or swamp deer, recognized for its majestic antlers. The park’s rivers are home to otters and dolphins, while the numerous water pools attract fishing birds like pelicans and the Pallas’s fishing eagle.

Tigers at Kaziranga
Kaziranga boasts the highest tiger density in India, with a population of 121 tigers. However, the dense jungles make tiger sightings rare, adding to the allure of the park’s natural beauty.

Game Drives at Kaziranga
Kaziranga’s vast core area is divided into three ranges, each offering different wildlife viewing experiences. Game drives are organized based on your interests and are guided by a knowledgeable naturalist, ensuring you visit the most rewarding areas for wildlife spotting.
