Sasan Gir: The Last Refuge of the Asiatic Lion in India

As deforestation continues near villages, locals often rely on the sanctuary for fuel wood, putting pressure on the lions’ habitat once again.

The best time to visit Sasan Gir is from December to April, when temperatures are pleasant and wildlife viewing is at its best. The park remains closed from mid-June to mid-October during the monsoon season, though opening dates may vary slightly based on weather patterns.
